The Owen Walsh Player Assistance Program was set up after the untimely death of Owen Walsh. Owen was a team manager in Novato who was well known for his attempts to ensure that local players were able to play soccer to the best level possible regardless of their financial status.
Following his death his family donated money to create a fund to assist players in Novato and that fund has further been strengthened by donations from board members, coaches, parents, referee's and through fundraising efforts.

To Apply for an OWPAP Scholarship:

- Collect your proof of income (Paycheck, W-2, other tax form) and include with your submission. NO INFORMATION WILL BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT SOME PROOF OF INCOME. All information will be kept private and destroyed after decisions have been made.

Decisions for the partial scholarships will be presented to the NYSA Board and approved at the April 9th board meeting (applications received before April1st), May 14th board meeting (applications received before May 1st), and at the June 11th board meeting (applications received before June 1st). Scholarships will range in amounts from $250 to $500, depending on the need, the number of applications received and the amount of money we are able to raise for the fund.
