Entry is simple and students at Novato High, San Marin High and Marin Catholic are eligible to apply.<br /><br />Students send their applications to our league president who then gives them to a three person committee who decide on the award winners. The committee receive applications where names and gender are removed and judge the winners not on their ability as soccer players but on their overall contribution to our Club. This years winners were players, referee's and coaches of the younger house teams. The boys were perfect in their efforts putting the pressure on the Oakland team and the game was decided after the fourth successful kick for Novato. </p><p>The U-10 Boys came in second place overall in the BAYSO regular season but kicked it up a notch for the playoffs advancing to the final after defeating the OCSC Oakland United Team 3-1 the week before in what was another hard fought match. </p><p style="text-align: center" align="center">This was a great performance and a great team effort by all the players and they never gave up. His success at UNC is staggering and his World Championship with the U.S. Women&rsquo;s National Team has inspired coaches to higher levels of excellence. Induction into the National Soccer Hall of Fame is a natural outgrowth of his exemplary and continuing career.&rdquo;<br /><br /> &ldquo; Hugo was a key player for the National Team in the late 80s and early 90s,&ldquo; Baumann continued. &ldquo;His career spanned from the last years of the NASL, through the MISL, and into the 1994 World Cup. His ability to create attacking opportunities was outstanding and the players around him were the beneficiaries of his skill, vision and tactical awareness. We welcome him as another wonderfully talented and successful player to the Hall of Fame.&rdquo;<br /><br /> Both Dorrance and Perez were elected with unprecedented totals in their respective categories. Dorrance was named on 53.85% of the Builder ballots and Perez was named on 58.33% of the Veteran Player ballots. Each year the top individual in the Builder and Veteran Player categories are elected to the Hall of Fame as long as the individual is named on a minimum of 50% of the ballots cast. They faced the reknowned <a class="offsite-link-inline" target="_blank" href="http://www.santaclarasporting.com/">Santa Clara Sporting</a>, recognised as 1 of the top 3 soccer clubs in Northern California and ranked 10th in the whole USA, who can pull players from the whole San Jose area and beyond (over 1 million people). Unfortunately they conceded two very early goals and were unable to get back into the game. They eventually lost 3-0 after a goal in added time at the end of the game.<br /><br /> It was a great performance by the boys and we believe they are the first NYSA Boys to get to the semi-finals of State Cup. Congratulations to them, Coach Tyler Gottschalk &amp; former coach Joe Hunter, and a big thank you to the boys for all your efforts, you made us all very proud.....<br />   <p style="text-align: center;"><span class="sizeGreater40"><font color="green" style="color: green;"><br />....meanwhile in Phoenix, AZ</font></span></p><br /> The Novato United U16 Boys took part in the prestigious Presidents Day Cup , ranked in the Top 5 events in the whole USA, where they have reached the semi-finals. This is a wonderful achievement for our City. So far they have beaten <a class="offsite-link-inline" target="_blank" href="http://larocadp.com/">La Roca DP</a>, the Utah State Champions, 1-0, the large <a class="offsite-link-inline" target="_blank" href="http://www.fcunitedpremier.com/">FC United </a>Club from Illinois 1-0, and tied 1-1 with <a class="offsite-link-inline" target="_blank" href="http://www.coloradorush.com/frameset.php">Colorado Rush</a>, ranked second in that state<br /><br />  In the Quarter Finals they beat <a class="offsite-link-inline" target="_blank" href="http://lcsharks.org/HNSL/index.htm">Striker FC </a>from New Mexico 2-1 to qualify for the semi-finals. The game was watched by a minimum of 12 college coaches who had heard of the reputation of the team through the networks of contacts built by DOC Erik Visser and Coach Hugo Perez.<br /><br />  Today they played a team from New Zealand, <a class="offsite-link-inline" target="_blank" href="http://www.unitedsoccer1.org.nz/">Birkenhead Utd </a>in the semi finals. On Saturday 8th December 2007 they beat  Stockton 7-0 followed and on Sunday 9th they got a great 1-0 win over Jack London followed by a 3-0 win over Madera.<br /><br /> Earlier today (Saturday 15th) the Wildcats beat Jack London 1-0 and met Manteca in the semi-finals. After the game ended in a draw the girls won an exciting penalty shootout and now play a team from Dixie!!.
