It is vital to the development of our players and the reputation of our Association that it's coaches, paid or not, behave in an appropriate manner. If you behave badly expect your players to as well.........
The NYSA has it's own Code of Conduct that coaches are expected (and in some cases contracted) to follow.
In addition bodies like USSF, CYSA and US Club Soccer also impose standards of behaviour on coaches.
The great thing about our game is its ability to surprise, excite and cause emotions, good and bad, to run high. All the participants are human beings and NONE of us are perfect. So remember the next time you blame someone like a ref for making, what in your opinion, is a bad call take a moment to reflect - it is easy to criticize and yell but how would you react if a ref yelled at you about poor tactics or decision making when your team concedes a goal!!.
We understand that every coach wants to win every game they play, just like the players, but it is important that we win and lose in a gracious manner and accept that not every decision or event is going to go your way. Please remember to respect match officials and opponents.
